What Are Data Points?
Data Points are customizable text elements that provide real-time operational information on your kitchen display system (KDS). They can be displayed on ticket views to help staff monitor key metrics efficiently.
How to Add a Data Point
- Navigate to the Configure section.
- Select Data Points from the left menu.
- Click the "Add" button.
- Fill in the following information:
- Name – A descriptive name for the data point.
- Type – Select from the dropdown menu.
- Data – Enter the appropriate parameters based on the selected type.
Available Data Point Types
Quantity
- Displays a count based on a specified formula.
- Data Parameter: Enter the formula for the quantity to display.
Oldest Ticket
- Shows the age of the oldest ticket at a specific station.
- Data Parameter: Enter the station ID (e.g., '5').
Oldest Ticket with Order Method
- Shows the age of the oldest ticket for a specific station and order method.
- Data Parameter: Enter the station ID and order method code (e.g., '5,T').
Station Ticket Count
- Displays the number of active tickets for a specific station.
- Data Parameter: Enter the station ID (e.g., '5').
Station Ticket Count with Order Method
- Displays the number of tickets for a specific station and order method.
- Data Parameter: Enter the station ID and order method code (e.g., '5,T').
Label
- Displays static text on the screen.
- Data Parameter: Enter the text you want to display.
Guest Count Inclusive
- Counts guests from specified terminals.
- Data Parameter: Enter a comma-separated list of terminals to count.
Guest Count Exclusive
- Counts guests from all terminals except the specified ones.
- Data Parameter: Enter a comma-separated list of terminals to exclude.
DB Oldest Order Method Ticket Inclusive
- Shows the time of the oldest Drive-Through ticket.
- Data Parameter: No parameter needed.
DB Oldest Order Method Ticket Exclusive
- Shows the time of the oldest Non-Drive-Through ticket.
- Data Parameter: No parameter needed.
DB Quantity of Group
- Displays the quantity of a specific group.
- Data Parameter: Enter the group identifier.
Dynamic All Day
- Displays dynamic data that updates throughout the day.
- Data Parameter: Enter the appropriate configuration.
Placing Data Points on Ticket Views
Once you have created your data points, follow these steps to place them on your ticket views:
- Go to Ticket View Data Points in the left menu.
- Select the ticket view where you want to display the data point.
- Add the data point to the view.
- Configure the position, font, and color settings.
Tips for Using Data Points Effectively
✅ Strategic Placement – Position data points where they won't interfere with ticket information but are still easily visible.
✅ Color Coding – Use different colors to make certain data points stand out.
✅ Font Size – Adjust font size based on importance (critical information should be larger).
✅ Limit Usage – Avoid overcrowding the display with too many data points.
Note: Data points appear behind tickets on the display, making them ideal for summary information that staff should be aware of throughout their shift.
